I have always been drawn to beautiful and artistic things; captivating artwork, elegant buildings and pure and simple countryside. Enjoying visits to an art gallery, studying the fine arts & painting of other artists, and nature in its intricate and diverse wonder.
While at school I enjoyed drawing (mostly horses!) but did not pursue a formal art career. More recently I have found the time and inspiration to paint, with much more precision, and attention to detail, aiming for a what I feel is a "painterly realism" in my work.
I work mostly in oils creating Oil on Canvas, and also use Canvas Panels and Wooden Panels, and offer my original oil paintings for sale at local Art Shows and Exhibitions.
My artwork is contemporary in style, and being based at the edge of the Chiltern Hills on the border between Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, there is a wealth of landscape nearby for inspiration, though I also travel and use my own photographs for reference from the wider geographical source.
I enjoy painting more exotic animals and birds too, and I am extremely grateful to those wonderful photographers around the world who have granted me permission to use their images for reference.
